First night in Shinjuku. Large billboard with temperature reading. We will walk pass the same place almost daily and check the day's temperature. I found Japan's meterological prediction on the daily news to be pretty accurate.
Dinner time. This is the same restaurant I visited 2 years ago during my first visit to Tokyo in Aug 2008.
Appetisier: Octopus marinated with what else but soya sauce.
Sashimi Boat with 8 different types of sashimi.
Homemade toufu with heap of dried bonito flakes.
Hokkaido Special Soup. Nothing special about this soup, just a few pieces of Hokkaido crab & toufu but it's pretty cheap at Yen 294.
12 pieces of nigiri sushi. And I'm already pretty full at this stage.
Grilled seafood, chicken skin & pork.
Well done! The 2 of us managed to finish at least 98% of the food. Total cost for our first dinner in Shinjuku: Yen 6,753.
Huge pachinko billboard outside the Shinjuku Prine Hotel where we stayed for 9 nights.
View from my room.
As the weather is pretty cold but not cold enough, so there was neither air conidtioning nor heater. The hotel staff offered us a fan as we found the room stuffy.
Haha, Japlish! But we knew what it meant anyway.
