148 of Project 365: Hangers

Everytime I bought new clothes my mom would ask me to stop buying saying there isn't any more hangers for my clothes. Or she will complain that the new hangers she bought ran out again. Frankly, I didn't buy that many clothes, just that there's only input but no output so what I need is a thorough spring cleaning of my wardrobe.

Mooncake Festival

One of my favourite mooncakes from Raffles Hotel. Managed to get this at 25% off the normal retail price through one of my friends who delivered it all the way to my office. The seventh month of the lunar calendar is not even over & here we are eating mooncakes.
Used to look forward to the Mooncake Festival when I was young as I love to play with the candles & lanterns.

My colleague lent me this CD. Worth listening even if you are not a believer. I might be biased because I've always like her music.

146 of Project 365: Japalang Necklace

Check out one of my latest creations! Recently, I started picking up one of my favourite, revenue-generating (when I managed to sell them) hobby. It's really therapeutic to labour over such creativity which takes my mind off "logical thinking" generally.
One of the many items on my to-do list is to start another blog to post my creations & sell them online. I already have all the creations really for sale but the biggest problem is I have yet to take the pictures. I have an existing catalogue but the pictures are really not up to mark which wouldn't do justice to my creations.
I name this "Japalang" (not sure if this is the correct spelling) because the necklace is made up of many different odds & ends. As I was adding more and more stuff to the necklace but mom kept saying "Wow, isn't it getting too heavy?" That's what I want to achieve, something chunky with a weight of its own.

Dinner at Home

Mom cooked up a storm tonight because today is my sis' birthday. Burp! After dinner, it's cake & dessert.

145 of Project 365: Boy or Girl

My sis suddenly asked my mom for this sheet of paper which I didn't even knew existed in the first place.
From this piece of paper, based on the chinese calendar, your age & the month you & your partner try to "make baby", you can determine the sex of your would be newborn. Isn't this amazing? Well, my mom said hers was pretty accurate but you have to try to know if it works. By the way, there's no mention of twins or triplets, so not sure if it works too.
By the way, my sis said she's going to make copies of this & sell it for $5 per piece. Well, you get it from me FOC if you read my blog, but must remember to accredit it ya.

143 of Project 365: Solar Energy Watch

There's nothing special or unique about this particular watch which I bought during my first trip to Japan back in 2008, except that it runs on solar energy.
If I'm correct, this Lilana range from Casio is not available in Singapore.
Before buying the watch I checked with the staff if the watch can work outside Japan as the watch can self-adjust according to the radio frequency of the location. I decided to take a gamble & went ahead to buy the watch even though the instruction manual is in Japanese because I think my basic Japanese coupled with the illustrations should get me through. Moreover, I thought the price of about $120 was quite reasonable for a solar watch which can last a pretty long time, maybe forever.
I didn't wear the watch for almost 2 years until March this year because I was unable to set the time to Singapore time, so all the while the watch was running on "Japan Hour". When I went for my second trip to Japan this year, I decided to bring this watch along so I can get someone in Japan to help me adjust it to Singapore time. The irony was, I actually managed to set the time myself while fiddling with it while on the flight to Tokyo. Frankly, I didn't know what I did differently this time compared to my previous attempts but I'm glad that I can finally wear the watch.
The other great thing about the watch is that it is self-adjusting. Even when the energy run out, it'll always tune up to the right time after a boost of solar energy. I would love it more if it comes with date-just.

142 of Project 365: Learning to Drive

I've finally decided to sign up for Class 3 (manual transmission) driving lessons with Bukit Batok Driving Centre. I passed my basic theory test back in 1996 but did not move on to take any practical lesson because my dad sold his car & I thought it'll be useless to have a license but don't have a car to drive. Well, I guess sooner or later, such a skill would definitely come in handy, so it's time to get into action.
Hopefully, I can pass my exam in one take.

I will choose air-conditioned indoor seat anytime. The sweltering hot weather in Singapore is not joke and I can't stand second hand smoke.

YOG

I went all the way to the floating stage hoping to catch a glimpse of the famous patented YOG flame but it was such a let down. The flame was almost blocked out of view by the steel structures surrounding it. For a while I actually thought I was at some industrial estate at Tuas.

140 of Project 365: Self-Enrichment

I bought these 3 books on Amazon and paid slightly over S$50 after using my US$50 voucher.
Besides brushing up on my technical skill & knowledge, I think what I needed most are more ideas and creativity to take more interesting pictures.

134 of Project 365: Overgrown

I'm always intrigued by the craftmanship of craving, be it on stone or wood.
This reminded me of my visit to Angkor Wat in 2008 which left a deep impression on me. I would definitely visit Cambodia again to capture its architectural magnificence.
