臭豆 (Petai)

Petai sold by Orang Asli along the road side.
As it was not in season during this time of the year, the prices are quite steep. A bunch like this can cost as much as RM 40 to 50, and we only saw a few stalls selling them.
These petai were picked by the locals from the wilderness which taste better than the mass-farmed version we get from the market. According to my cousin, petai can be eaten raw too.

I remember that when I was very young (maybe in preschool or kindergarten), the teacher wanted us to bring a few rice chaff to class. My mom just picked out a few for me from the rice container. But not sure if you can still find these in the rice nowadays after all the processes to clean & sift the rice before being sold in the market.

Chui Chak (水闸), Malaysia

Took a short detour on our way back to Kuala Lumpur from Cameron Highlands to visit our relatives in Chui Chak.
Here's my cousin coaching my sis in badminton.

The picture was not focused as I was trying to balance myself with my left hand while trying to take pictures with my right hand. It was quite tough trying to maintain my balance as the ropeway can be quite shaky with people walking on it.
